One of the hardest things I’ve had to do is combining school with entertainment, I almost give in to the frustrations and pressure but I’m happy I didn’t,….is it the stress of traveling Lagos (work) and Ibadan (school) several times in a week?
This minute I’m in Lagos working, another minute I’m in Ibadan to answer school calls, an example was how I left Lagos Island 4pm yesterday (working for infinix), 7:30pm I was still held in Lagos Traffic, and I have an exam 9am this morning in Ibadan, emi mo ya Gbokada (I carry bike )…well I got to Ibadan 10:50pm, prepared for my exams and…
Or should I talk about how I sometimes reject some deals with good pay and exposure because school Exercises won’t let me? Or that pain of how I rejected some jobs because I was supposed to write tests the same day and boom!!!!! The Test was postponed!
Sometimes I wonder where I get that strength from, with this my small body… God is sooo faithful to me, I’m so happy… I SIGNED OUT TODAY !!!!!!!! 💃💃💃💃 I’m so proud of myself I’m going to buy myself a bottle of Cold Coke tomorrow

 

Police Arrest Tonto Dikeh In Dubai, Might Be Deported – Sources Gives Update

According to sources ,Tonto arrived the venue of the event and the security refused to allow her in while others walked pass her into the event

Tonto got upset and the sources who say she appeared high on something launched a verbal attack on the security guard and her two friends Timi and Bob shifted to the side when they could not stop her or control her.

She is quoted to have called the white security guard a ”Nigga” while yelling and cursing and asking him if he knows who she is………”Do you know who i am? Do you fvcking know who i am”

When it got out of hand the Police was called in and she was taken away.

In a video that has been making rounds on the internet, the rapper cited that the only time she will be performing for the rest of the year would be upon her arrival to the motherland.

“I got one more show in 2019, and that’s in Africa,” she said in the video which was taped backstage after what appeared to be her most recent performance in the United States.

This would be Cardi B’s first visit to Africa. It has been said that the rapper is coming over for a two-day Festival that’ll be taking place in Lagos and Accra this December.

How I Battled Fibroid For Five Years – Toyin Lawani

Toyin Lawani shared the story of how she battled with fibroid when she was pregnant with her first child. She narrated her struggle with fibroid and how she nearly lost her womb.

She wrote;

“I chose to tell you about my story today. I keep everything in my life under wraps because of the negativity out there. 90 percent of my life doesn’t make it to the Internet.

I’ve been through a lot in my life, but I’ll let you read all the truth in my book and watch on my reality show #Lifeofanenterpreneur…”

“When I had @lilatmfashionista (Tiannah) I bled all through the pregnancy not knowing I was even pregnant till about 5 months after. three years after I had her I was always having stomach pains and bleeding heavily through my periods.

I went to see my gynecologist and he said I had three small fibroids and we agreed to take them out through laparoscopic surgery.

“I woke up thinking it was done, he said it was on my womb, that I will lose my womb if he did it, and I didn’t sign for them to open me up.

They had to do it through major surgery. He said one was on my bladder, which made me pee myself when I cough in public and it gave me terrible back pains and leg pains, but he then advised me to have another baby before the surgery.

Years after, I got pregnant with @lordmaine1 despite the consequences around it. My partner insisted I had the baby after we found out I was pregnant for months like this because I was still having my periods.

Due to the fibroids, around five months I was bedridden. I had a lot of pains from the pregnancy and flew to my gynecologist in the UK.

He said I had something called Red Degeneration where the fibroids suck the blood from the baby and doesn’t make it grow. The same day I found out I had Gestational Diabetics. I thought I was going to lose the baby, they changed my diet, went through nonstop pains till about 7 months.

Later the baby started growing well and so was the 3 fibroids, they put my sugar levels on the check, during this period.

“With all the pains I even had a fashion show in UK @afwlandafwn and no one knew what I was going through. Even after the show I still ended up at d hospital the next day and they couldn’t give me any serious meds all through my pains, because it could affect the baby, just pain killers.

So, I had to bear the pain and in all these, one day while I was sleeping at home, someone sent me a blog story.

I read a lot of horrible things about the paternity of my child, with a series of lies, just to pull me and the brand that I’ve worked so hard for down. This worsened my health badly, but my partner & mother-in-law stood by me all through.

“Taking care of me and with prayers, they never doubted me for once. During this period, I couldn’t walk, eat, bath myself, nor talk, thanks to my partner and brother.

They used to bath me. I also had a sister God sent to me, but the pain stopped after about 7 months.

A lot of my former staff had left me by then, but I raised a team of interns & worked till I was 8 months and two weeks because like everyone else, we have bills to pay.

I even lost my home and former shops. After I had the baby, I started working on my new site Tiannahsplacempire quietly.

‘They Are After You’ – Ruler Tells Naira Marley (Read Details)

The monarch spoke with the singer last night when he paid him homage as he arrived Sagamu to perform in the 2019 Sagamu Day festival.

You will recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had preferred an 11-count charge against the musician bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit credit cards and fraud.

Every year, the highly-rated Music Award continues to lose its relevancy as Artistes and Fans continue to show their dissatisfaction with the Award organizers.

While fans are not happy with the Nominees selection, placing artistes in the wrong categories – many Artistes are also not cool because they have failed to make it to the nomination list.

Imagine –  Olamide, Naira Marley, Qdot, Rexxie didn’t make it to the Headies 2019 Nominees list 😳😳

Sadly, Headies didn’t say anything about it because they feel they are too big.

This and many other factors are behind their nosediving growth.

Well, below are 5 things we think Headies should do to gain back their respect from Artistes & Fans.

5 Things Headies Should Do To Gain Back Their Respect

1. Year In Review

This is the biggest problem of Headies and if they continue ignoring this, they will continue losing it.

Your fans/music lovers are not finding it funny anymore, and if you truly care about them – you need to correct this now and every other thing will fall in place.

What’s the bullshit, January 2018 to June 2019 duration of reviewing and content selection?

Music lovers don’t understand this and they are the targeted audience – please adjust this for them or continue to fail.

FOR ME:- I think January to November should be the duration in review and then have your award in December of that same year.

This will send a signal to every artiste to drop their songs within this period.

Example

Killertunes performed so well in 2018 for producing hit songs like => Baba, Yeba, Fake Love, Manya, Nowo, Bobo etc but didn’t win because the year in review then was actually for 2017.

This created an uproar among music lovers and they all came to the conclusion that Headies is nothing but trash.

He went on to win “The Best Producer Of The Year” in 2019 (a few days ago) when the year in review is 2018 – Bullshit.

Music lovers already got this twisted last year because they felt a talented producer was cheated without them knowing what “Year In Review” means or how it works.

MY ADVICE:- If your audience doesn’t understand your formula, change it to what they understand and carry them along accordingly.

2. Unorganized Nominees List

It’s like Headies Award organizers don’t even understand their own award categories.

FOR ME:- Rema is not fit to be nominated in the “Next Rated” award category not to talk of winning it at all.

Rema, Joeboy, Fireboy should have been nominated in the “Rookie Of The Year” category as they are freshers in the music industry (their first year).

From what we observe this year, it seems when you have a big song in your first year, you deserve to be nominated as “Next Rated”

If so, why then did Maryokun win “Rookie Of The Year” in 2016 with his debut song Eleko?

Why did Reekado also win “Rookie Of The Year” in 2014 when we all know his song back then is way bigger than what Rema currently has.

MY ADVICE:- Many irregularities in the last 2 years 2018 & 2019. Its obvious Headies is confused and they are their own problem.

They should involve experts from different sectors of the music industry when coming up with their nominee’s list.

This will really help them to make a list that will go down well with the vast majority of music lovers and earn the utmost credibility.

Why did they exclude Olamide, Naira Marley, Rexxie, Qdot from the nominee’s list? – This is a question waiting to be answered.

3. Transparency In The Voting Process

Nigerians don’t trust Headies anymore as far as selection and voting are concerned.

However, BBNaija that has a bigger fan base has been able to walk pass this successfully countless number of times because they outsource their voting process to a trusted Audit and Consulting firm, Deloitte Nigeria.

I think this will really go a long way if they follow the same route.

ONLINE VOTING

Online voting is a very potent voting medium in every part of the world. It’s no doubt, one of the best way to get people’s choice as far as voting is concerned but sadly Headies is not handling it properly.

Why would any serious award brand with numerous categories and voting options put everything on a single page with all the first options all marked?

4. Understanding The Categories & Making The Fans Understand Too

Headies should try as much as possible to educate every Nigerians about the criteria of every award categories and they should stick

Headies should try as much as possible to outline the criteria for an artiste to make each of the award categories then stick to it and educate Nigerians about it.

If they do this consistently for 2 years they will definitely gain back their lost credibility.

Teni and Peruzzi not included in this year’s next rated category clearly show that Headies doesn’t even understand their own award categories.

Why would you put Joeboy, Fireboy, and Rema in the Next Rated category when we know Teni and Peruzzi were on fire in 2018 (your year in review)?

5. Giving Out Each Category To A Brand For Sponsorship

Getting a sponsor for the show has always been a battle they have to fight every year – it’s so disheartening.

This is the fastest way for any brand to get demoralized as funding is an important part of an event like this. As such, Headies might be forced to look for funds any possible which might come with conditions e.g “I want my artiste to win“.

Greatly, Headies is already going towards this direction “giving out each award category to brands for sponsorship“.

Kudos to them for this but they need to put more effort so that they can get more brands to sponsor other categories.

This will take away the pressure of looking for sponsors for the entire award as each brand will get to pay for their category and they will generate funds which will be used to sort all the event expenses and other costs.

Naira Marley’s Case Adjourned Till December As Lawyers Quarrel Over Seats

The trial resumed for hearing today October 24th but as the judge settled in to hear the case, the lawyer representing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Rotimi Oyedepo and Naira Marley’s counsel, Olalekan Ojo, SAN, and two other senior lawyers, began to quarrel over seats available in the court.

The presiding judge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo appealed to the lawyers to bear with the government over inadequate space in the courtroom.

The courtrooms in the Federal High Court Lagos are usually very small. Justice Oweibo then adjourned the case immediately.
